Plastic Surgery Trends in 2015

A recent article from the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AASFPRS) predicted what they believe will be the biggest trends in plastic surgery in 2015.  Check out the list of what will be hot in 2015. The predicted top 3 Plastic Surgery Procedures for 2015:

1.  Rhioplasties, neck contouring and eyelid lifts are some of the most popular surgeries right now.  Experts believe that the demand for these surgeries has gone up because of the “selfie” phenomenon.  More people are seeing themselves on social media and, as a result, want to look their best.

2.  Injectables and fillers will also still be amongst the most popular procedures this coming year because patients are still drawn to the quick fix with no down time that only fillers can provide.

Injectables and fillers instantly refresh one’s look and take years off of one’s face without surgery or downtime !

3.  One of the biggest predicted plastic surgery trends in 2015 will be the blepharoplasty, or eyelid lift.  This surgery is amongst the most popular because the eyelid area is often one of the first areas to show signs of aging.  This surgery will take years off one’s face and there are minimal risks and side effects.

Top 3 Holiday Cosmetic Procedures

As the holidays roll around, while some people are worrying about what color tie they should buy their father-in-law, the rest of us are concerned with how much better we look this year compared to last. The last minute holiday beauty rush is well on it’s way. Here is the list of Lift MD Aesthetics’s® top 3 cosmetic procedures of the Holiday Season to help you with your decision.

Facelift:

facelift smoothes loose skin on your face and neck, tightens underlying tissues and removes excess fat. Your bone structure, heredity and skin texture all play a role in how many “years” a facelift can “erase” and, to some extent, influence how long it will last. A facelift can be done alone, or in conjunction with other procedures such as a browlift, eyelid surgery, or nose reshaping.

Breast Augmentation:

A breast augmentation can include an enlargement, a reduction or a lift. Breast enlargement, also called augmentation mammoplasty, is designed to increase the size of small or underdeveloped breasts. Surgery can also restore and enhance your breast volume if it has decreased as a result of having children. A breast lift, also called mastopexy, raises and recontours loose, sagging breasts. You may decide you would like a breast lift because you have lost volume and tone in your breasts after having children. Another frequent reason for having this procedure is the loss of a significant amount of weight. Breast reduction, also called reduction mammoplasty, enhances your overall appearance by making your breasts more proportional to the rest of your body.

LipoSculpture:

Lipoplasty, also called liposuction, removes localized collections of fatty tissue to give you a smoother and slimmer body contour. For the best results, you should be of relatively normal weight with extra fat localized in specific areas such as the hips, buttocks and abdomen. Lipoplasty is also effective in removing fat deposits from the back, legs, arms, face and neck.

Holiday Facelift with Little Recovery, Immediate Results

Holiday season is upon us. Are you ready? Only 3 weeks until Thanksgiving and holiday festivities, you know what that means; parties, reunions with friends and family and endless photo ops. We all want to look our best for these occasions so now that your hair appointment is booked and your party dresses are waiting for their debut, Dr. Kassabian has the answer for your pre-holiday cosmetic quandaries. The Lift MD Aesthetics® Liquid Facelift will revitalize your look with little recovery time, and subtlety that will leave you looking your best, not different.
A typical result of aging, the face begins to lose collagen, elastin and fat, resulting in the loss of youthful contour and facial volume. The liquid facelift is a non-surgical alternative to a traditional lift with a short recovery time. With the use of Botox®, Juvederm®Perlane®, Radiesse® and Sculptra® to name a few, Dr. Kassabian is able to restore your natural, youthful beauty. Each of these dermal fillers has unique attributes that work synergistically and compliment each other to address your concerns. The liquid facelift lift can be used to either lift the face in it’s entirety, contour specific facial features, correct wrinkles, creases and folds or volumize specific areas.
You and Dr. Kassabian explore your options and decide how to best achieve your desired results.
Time is running out before the holiday rush arrives so be sure to book your appointment in time for results to become effective. Call Lift MD Aesthetics® to set up a consultation with Dr. Kassabian.

Check out Dr. Kassabian’s “Guide to Injectables” to learn more about your options:

There are many injectables out there that aim to fill lines and prevent wrinkles, caused by aging or overly-expressive facial muscles. But which injectable is right for you? Everyone could use a little help, especially as the years pass by more and more quickly. However, it is crucial to be informed when making a decision about the first thing people notice about you, your face. Both men and women can experience the benefits of non-invasive fillers and injectables, and Dr. Kassabian’s guide below will help you decide the right fit for your face. These are Dr. Kassabian’s favorite, hot on the market, fillers and injectables with minimal side effects and lasting benefits.

Botulinum Toxins:

Botox:

Dr. Kassabian’s motto is “the best plastic surgery goes unnoticed”.  With his expertise, the combination of Botox® and other injectables will address your concerns and give incredibly natural results.

Botox® is a botulinum toxin and is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate-to-severe lines between the brows, on the forehead, crow’s feet, nasal wrinkles, perioral lines, and lifting of the nose tip. Common but typically unknown uses include injections to combat sweaty scalps, armpits, palms and soles, correct bunny lines on nose, soften lip and chin puckering, and minimize neck bands. It is commonly injected into the masseter muscle to reduce the width of the face and give a more V-shaped look. With no surgery and no recovery time, this is a safe option for first-time cosmetic enhancement users.

Who it’s best For: People with moderate to severe wrinkles. Botox is also used to prevent headaches and TMJ.

Dysport:

Dysport has been used in Europe for the past 18 years and is now available in the U.S. and can be used in the same manner as Botox®. Dysport is an injection used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows, forehead lines, crow’s feet, nasal wrinkles, perioral lines and neck bands in adults. It can also be used to treat headaches and migraines. It is commonly injected into the masseter muscle to reduce the width of the face and give a more V-shaped look. Like Botox®, Dysport is also used for TMJ relief.

Who It’s Best For: Adults with moderate to severe wrinkles and for treatment of migraines and TMJ.

Dysport VS Botox: What is the difference?

From a clinical standpoint, Dysport and Botox® appear to be equivalent in their time of onset, duration of activity, and efficacy. Botox® and Dysport may treat the majority of headaches and can usually allow the patient to go off medication within 3- 6 months. It is safe to say that Dysport and Botox® are more similar than they are different.

Hyaluronic Acid Gels:

Juvederm®:

Juvederm® is a smooth gel containing hyaluronic acid that comes in several viscosities for various wrinkle depths. Use the stronger gel for nasal labial folds, cheek bones and under eye, and the softer gel for your lips. Available with or without Lidocaine, which is a numbing agent used to eliminate discomfort during the injection. Lasts up to one year.

Who It’s Best For: Those seeking to improve the appearance of facial lines or plump the lips, as young as 18 years old.

Restylane:

Restylane is one of the first hyaluronic-acid fillers to hit the market. The particles are medium sized which make this versatile filler, the more you use it, the longer it lasts.  One treatment lasts up to eight months and is best for use for under the eyes, nasolabial folds, lips and medium-depth wrinkles. Also available without or without Lidocaine.

Who It’s Best For: Used mostly for under the eyes, nasolabial folds, lips and medium-depth wrinkles. Lasts about 6 months.

Perlane:

Perlane is essentially a thick form of Restylane and works best for deep wrinkles, general lifting and straightening the jawline. This can also be used to treat facial scars and skin depressions.  The FDA states that Perlane lasts 6 months, but some have experienced the effects for several years in less mobile facial locations. Also available without or without Lidocaine.

Who It’s Best For: Those with more prominent wrinkles, nasolabial folds and lips. Best for problems involving the lower third of the face.

Juvederm VS Restylane VS Perlane:

The difference between these products is simple; particle size. Perlane has larger particles which makes it thicker and better for adding volume to cheeks and filling in the nasolabial folds around the mouth and also lasts longer. Restylane and Juvederm are great for adding volume to the lips and tear troughs around the eyes and filling in nasolabial folds.

COLLAGEN STIMULATORS:

It’s all about volumizing the face. In addition to targeting specific wrinkles and plumping lips, collagen stimulators allow you to achieve a more youthful look by stimulating your body to form collagen, which translates into volume thus improve the appearance of aging skin folds, indented skin surfaces, hollowed cheeks, and sunken eyes. Collagen stimulators are more popular now than ever before. Here are Dr. Kassabian’s leading favorites:

Sculptra:

Sculptra is a synthetic poly-L-lactic acid which, upon injection, stimulates collagen production. Most effective when injected in several sessions over several months and can last up to 2 years. Sculptra is best for replacing volume over large areas and is also known as the “liquid facelift“.

Who It’s Best For: Those suffering from facial atrophy, the filler of choice for more mature men and women. Used mostly for the cheeks and temples to add volume.  Sculptra is great for those with minimal facial muscle pads and for athletes.

Radiesse:

A collagen based product, uses calcium hydroxyapitate microspheres suspended in a gel that act as a filler while spheres stimulate natural collagen production. Best used for filling facial atrophies of the cheekbones and jaw lines. Also used on hands and for nose reshaping. Radiesse can last up to 1 year.

Who It’s Best For: Used mostly for the cheeks and temples to add volume. Results are immediate.
